You can still buy a Flip camera and should be able to for awhile now, but is it worth picking one up now that the line has been discontinued? The good news is if you do buy a Flip while they're still available Cisco is still offering full product support. All the Flip brand cameras come with a one year warranty which they will honor for a full year after your purchase date. So if you run into an issue in that first year they'll be there for you and you can get it taken care of just like usual. The software that comes with the Flip is a bit of a different story, but still not completely awful news. As it is, software support will be in full effect up until December 31, 2013, which means if you were to buy a Flip right now you would still have full software support for over a year, which is honestly more than other brands can say about the software that comes with their cameras. The software will still work, there just won't be any more updates available. The real downside to the end of software support is that video sharing will no longer be supported. But, even the loss of software updates isn't a horrible con to buying a Flip camera, because you can easily use any other type of video organization and editing software to manage and share your videos from your computer. Many computers come with some type of video software already installed on them and that will work just fine for easy editing and then you can upload to YouTube and other web properties from your hard drive with no problems.Kodak and Sony have introduced similar models that will likely take the place of the Flip in the future, but for now it still remains at the top of the recommendation list for pocket camcorders and will always hold a special place in the heart of bloggers and podcasters for the revolutionary changes it has made to digital media. So even though we won't see any new Flip cameras introduced to the electronics marketplace, it's still one of the most widely recommended, easiest to use, and most affordable pocket camcorders available today, even if it's only still available for a limited amount of time. elements from the top bar.  For more info, visit this site.
